You’ve got the most out of Excel. Maybe it’s time to take the next step?
Excel is a fantastic tool. It really is. But there comes a point when it reaches its limits — and it’s you and your teams who end up paying the price, in lost time, frustration, and sometimes mistakes.
If any of these situations sound familiar, you may have reached this point:
- 📋 Your file has become so complex that only you know how it works
- 🔗 Sharing with colleagues leads to version conflicts and overwritten data
- 🖨️ The layout goes haywire as soon as you print or switch screens
- ⚙️ Your macros work… until the day they stop working, with no clear reason why
- 📎 You’ve tried connecting Excel to Outlook, Word or other tools — and wasted hours for a disappointing result
- 📈 Your business has grown, and Excel hasn’t grown with it
What a bespoke web app can do
A web app isn’t necessarily something complex or intimidating. It’s simply a tool made for you, accessible via a browser, that does exactly what you need — and nothing more.
In practical terms, this means:
- A clear interface, designed with your business and your habits in mind
- Multiple users working at the same time, without the risk of overwriting each other’s data
- Clean exports to PDF or Word, in the format of your choice
- Reliable automations, which don’t break at the slightest change
- Access from any device, no installation required
And above all: you don’t need to know what a “database” or a “server” is to use your tool on a daily basis.
They took the plunge — and they don’t regret it

TDR — Forensic engineering consultancy
The firm used to use Excel to produce its expert reports, with embedded rich text boxes. Excel’s limitations made the layout difficult to control, and each report required tedious adjustments.
Today, they have a bespoke web application: the surveyor writes their reports on an iPad, even when offline and out on site, signing them directly on the screen. The secretary handles the administrative follow-up from the office. The final reports are exported to PDF and Word in just a few clicks.
Tennis Stats App
Two tennis enthusiasts wanted to automate the calculation of statistics based on match and player data spread across several Excel sheets. The project started simply and evolved into a full-fledged Node.js application, featuring multi-criteria filters, player comparisons, and the ability to import matches in Excel format…
Three development phases later, the tool continues to evolve alongside their needs.

Frequently asked questions
Will it be complicated to use? No. The interface is designed to suit your habits, not those of an IT specialist. If you know how to use Excel, you’ll know how to use your web app.
And my data — where is it, and is it secure? Your data remains yours. Depending on your preference, the application can be hosted on a dedicated server or integrated into your existing tools (such as Dropbox).
I don’t have a server or hosting — is that a problem? Not at all; I can take care of that if needed, and it’s included in the discussion when we discuss the quote.
What if my needs change after delivery? That’s covered. I remain available for updates and maintenance — in fact, that’s how my current collaborations work.
